The latest version of this award-winning knife raises the bar even higher with the addition of a low-profile Diamond Like Carbon (DLC) coating on the blade. 
Harder than the blade steel itself, this state-of-the-art coating eliminates reflection off the blade 
and makes this knife the lightweight cutting tool of choice in environments where light discipline is a concern. 
The full-flat-ground PlainEdge™ blade is crafted from high-performance CTS® BD1 stainless steel and features an opposing index-finger choil and thumb ramp for superior control during precision cutting tasks. 
Both areas include jimping (textured grooves) for maximum purchase 
and are complemented by an oversized Trademark Round Hole™ that allows swift one-handed opening, even while wearing gloves. 
The Manix 2 Lightweight’s handle is injection molded from fiberglass-reinforced co-polymer (FRCP)—a tough, incredibly lightweight material that keeps the knife’s overall weight down to a mere three ounces. 
Joining the blade and handle is Spyderco’s patented high-strength Ball Bearing Lock™ mechanism,
 which offers exceptional strength and fully ambidextrous operation. 
The handle includes a deeply molded Bi-Directional Texturing™ pattern for maximum grip security
 and a reversible black wire clip that provides left or right-side tip-up carry.
