The classic Bowie knife has long been popular among knife enthusiasts. While being versatile for wide range of tasks, most Bowie knives are quite large making them less than ideal for lightweight or discreet carry. TOPS Knives has created a smaller version that is compact and lightweight enough that even a backpacker could carry it. One of the most important pieces of kit on a backpacking trip is a good, reliable knife. The Backpacker's Bowie offers just that with 4" of stout 1095 carbon steel blade and hand filling Green Canvas Micarta handle scales. In addition to normal knife function this Bowie has a notch on the spine for breaking wire or pot lifting. The Backpacker's Bowie is one tool you won't want to leave behind.

Blade: The full tang 1095 high carbon tool steel blade is differentially heat treated for optimal performance, with a tough spine and hard cutting edge. The blade sports a saber grind that delivers enough durability for batoning kindling while retaining good slicing performance. The top swedge enhances piercing performance and can be sharpened based on the users needs thank to the ease of sharpening of 1095 which make it a top choice for outdoor field knives. Jimping on the spine enhance traction and control during use. The jimping paired with a pronounced index finger guard provide security from unwanted contact with the cutting edge.

Handle: The full tang construction supports generous, contoured Green Canvas Micarta handle scales with contrasting white liners that are attached with dual, stainless steel Allen bolts and a single hollow aluminum pin for lanyard attachment. The handle feature distinct finger grooves providing a solid and secure grip even in the most adverse conditions.

Sheath: Comes with a custom molded kydex sheath equipped rotating spring clip.

1095 High Carbon Tool Steel: Highly popular, simple carbon steel. Used extensively by both production and custom knife makers. Low abrasive wear due to low carbide content but very tough and easy to sharpen. Not corrosion resistant and will rust without proper care.
